Find the Perfect Swimsuit For Memorial Day Fun!

With Memorial Day coming, is your water wardrobe ready?

Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer and that means lot’s of summer activities, especially going to the beach or hanging out by the pool.

So how is your swimsuit situation?

Luckily, I’m always here to help!  I’ve put together a small sampling of perfectly fashionable swimsuits for the whole family!

First up, the ladies: Athleta & Macy’s

Athleta is home to a variety of designs, particularly for anyone who spends as much time in the water as they do exercising on the beach.  I wanted to include them since I know many of you like an athletic look to a swimsuit and one that is designed to stay on in the surf.

However, if you’re looking for a more traditional design, Macy’s has a positively huge selection to choose from!

For the guys, Macy’s is also my suggestion for the perfect pair of trunks!

And for the wee-ones, Naartjie Kids has some adorable swimwear for the summer! You might want to get two they’re so cute!

There you have it! A style for everyone in the family.

Celebrate Gatsby Style at Brooks Brothers Flatiron!

Gatsby is at The Streets at Southpoint, and

I’m not just talking about the motion picture!

Brooks Brothers Flatiron Shop presents…

Brooks Brothers collaborated with the film’s costume designer, two time Oscar-winner Catherine Martin, for all of the men’s clothing in the film. In fact, it was F.Scott Fitzgerald’s affinity for Brooks Brothers (mentioned in the book repeatedly) that gave Catherine the idea.

She poured over old Brooks Bothers pictures and catalogs from the 1920′s to get an exact feel for how to dress the stars of the film. And if you’ve seen the movie, you can see that she nailed it! I smell Oscar #3!

In honor of the blockbuster film, Brooks Brothers has released the “Gatsby Collection”, available now at The Streets at Southpoint Flatiron location.

And now, exclusively for college students, Brooks Brothers Flatiron will take 15% off EVERYTHING when students present a valid, current college I.D.  See the store for details!

I was in the store over the weekend and snapped pics of a few of my favorite looks (not just Gatsby) for men and women!

Here are some additional looks from the new “Gatsby” line.  As you can see from the pictures, there is no mistaking the inspiration for these amazing designs.

Admittedly, I think guys clothes can be a little boring compared to what ladies get to choose from. But these styles?  GORGEOUS!

Celebrate Mother’s Day Weekend with some

Music on Main!

Sunday is Mother’s Day. But to be honest, mom deserves more than just one day. So give her the whole weekend by treating her to a great night of terrific live music and a wonderful meal.

Speaking of great food, you really can satisfy anyone in the family (particularly mom) with the selection of eateries at The Streets at Southpoint.

Afterward, it’s time for the show outside!  If you’ve never been before, Music on Main is a series of FREE, family-friendly, outdoor concerts held every Saturday evening (weather and conditions permitting of course)  from 6-8:45pm in the Cinema Circle stage just outside of Southpoint 17 cinemas. The concerts run until October 26th.

This week, Mel Melton & Wicked Mojos (Blues) with DJ/MC John Wilson will will bring some blues to the party!

Picture Your Pet in Adorable Holiday Cheer!

Wish your Furry Family Members could be in your holiday pictures with Santa?

They CAN!

Time to break out the doggie antlers and kitty scarves!  The four-legged members of your family can join you for a picture with Santa at The Streets at Southpoint!  

There are still TWO more St. Nick’s Pet Pics events coming up,  including this coming Monday night (12/10) at 6 pm!

 Cats and dogs are invited to join the rest of the family for a holiday portrait at the Santa Set.

The final two St. Nick’s Pet Pics night will be on Monday nights, 12/10 and 12/17.

 The special pet sessions run from 6pm until the Santa set closes for the night.Please make sure your furry buddies are on a leash or in a carrier and try not to linger in the center AFTER you get the photo.

BLACK FRIDAY IS ALMOST HERE!

You know that old saying- you eat the entree to get to dessert?  Well for me on Thanksgiving, I eat my dessert to get to Black Friday!

The busiest and wildest shopping day of the year is almost here and this shopping GURU is ready and very excited to get some killer deals!  Things will start early this year at The Streets at Southpoint with a ton of stores opening at 12am midnight on Friday! Check out this lineup:

If you just can’t wait until midnight to cross off your wish list this year and grab some great deals,  Jos. A. Bank will be open at 10pm and Sears will welcome shoppers at 8pm on Thanksgiving day!

On Friday, the mall itself officially opens at 6am and will stay open until 10pm. I suggest getting to the mall early, even if it’s not midnight. If you’re there before the crowds, you’ll get the best deals and the best parking spot!

When it comes to putting together your Black Friday shopping strategy, here are a couple tips:

  • Do Your Homework: Know where you need to go!  Running from one end of the mall to the other wastes time and energy, so map out your approach.
  • Make a List:  Make a list of everyone on your gift list along with gift ideas. Then, cross off each person as you go. If you’re stumped on what to get someone, feel free to leave me your question in the comment section right here.
  • Treat Yourself:  With such amazing deals out there, don’t forget one person on your list — YOU!  If you see that standout sweater, bag or shoes, get it while it’s on a Black Friday special.
