I don’t know about you, but it seems to me that wedding season is almost here! Not only do I already have a few save the dates on my refrigerator, I also have the pleasure of being a bridesmaid in a girlfriend’s wedding this coming May! With all this wedding stuff dancing around me, it got me thinking about wedding season and everything that a soon-to-be bride and groom go through to get to that special day, especially the all-daunting task of the registry! I had the pleasure of sitting down with the fabulous Whitney Pilson, who by the way is the Bridal Registry Consultant at The Streets at Southpoint Macy’s, and she walked me through the Wedding Registry process (which really isn’t very difficult at all)!
First things first – Macy’s Wedding and Gift Registry is located on the upper level where you find all the home goods – you can walk right in and take a seat OR make an appointment, either is fine, however, I would recommend making an appointment (when I arrived on Sunday afternoon there was a couple already there and then another walked up while Whitney and I were talking). The whole set-up process only takes about 10-15 minutes, a lot of brides come in on their own for the set up portion and then bring their hubby-to-be with them at another time to start scanning.
Upon arrival, you will receive this super nifty Registry How-To Kit, it contains everything and anything you could ever need to know about registering – it even has a super helpful check-list to make sure you’ve covered all your bases..It covers it all – I’m talking the kitchen, the bedroom, the bathroom, the dining room, and even travel needs!
One of the best things about registering with Macy’s is the Registry Star Rewards Program! Macy’s wedding and gift registry entitles you to gifts, bonuses and benefits that you won’t find anywhere else. As a Registry Star Rewards member you’ll receive Rewards on your registry gifts and Macy’s purchases. From the day you enroll until your wedding date, receive 10% rewards on eligible purchases made with your Macy’s credit account and 5% Rewards on eligible gifts purchased from your Macy’s registry. After your wedding, you’ll receive the total amount of your Rewards in a Rewards Card to purchase any items throughout the store (even the ones that you didn’t receive as a gift on your registry)! How awesome is that??!
What else is cool about Macy’s Registry? You can update and manage your registry online! After your initial in-store setup, you’ll receive an email with your online registry information – it’s just that easy to manage your registry and have 24/7 access to it! And if you’re one of those people that LOVE to use your phone for everything (I’m one of those people), you can also manage your registry on your mobile device, so you can check-in on it wherever you are, whenever you want! Oh, and one more thing, you can share your registry on your Facebook page!!
So, in talking with Whitney, I realized that china is one of the most popular gifts couples register for. China is something i know very little about and if you’re in the same boat, have no fear, Whitney has just the thing for you – a mock dining set-up! What’s this you ask? Well, Macy’s makes it so easy to choose the perfect dining set – not only do they have awesome selection, but they also set it up for you right there in the store so you can mix and match until you find the perfect combination! How wonderful is that?!
I asked Whitney what the hottest selling China is right now and she let me in on a little secret – Casual China! It’s versatile, sleek, dishwasher safe, and microwavable! (She had me at dishwasher safe!)
So, once you’re all registered the rest is up to your guests! They can just walk right up to the registry kiosk (which is easy to find, there’s a big REGISTRY sign hanging above it on the upper level in home goods), type in your name, get a little printout of your registry and VOILA, gifts are being purchased!
So, when your time comes, don’t forget about Macy’s Registry! It’s easy, fun, and the Bridal Consultants are so friendly and eager to help!
